I had a feeling this was going to happen in October and now it's a reality. QB Tyler Gabbert has officially decommitted from Nebraska and will visit Missouri this weekend (PowerMizzou site here.) And according to a friend of the family, "it's only Missouri."
Said Tyler Gabbert:
"I called him (Watson) on the phone," Gabbert said. "I went back and watched some games from the season and it wasn't what I anticipated it to be. I also was looking at some of the depth charts at numerous positions, and I felt like the offense wasn't [going] in the direction I'd like for it to be."
The 4* Gabbert (Rivals) had a less-than-stellar senior season at Parkway West High in Ballwin, MO. Gabbert threw for 965 yards, 8 TD's, and 4 INT's and rushed for only 228 yards and 2 TD's on 70 carries. Not good numbers. If you are a 4* QB in high school, you dominate no matter how bad your high school team is.
No question that if Gabbert (6'0, 190) does end up at Missouri, he's going to have plenty of competition coming from others besides his much bigger brother Blaine (6'5, 240.) Missouri already has 4* dual-threat QB James Franklin from Corinth, TX committed for the 2010 season as well as a verbal from very-highly-touted QB Corbin Berkstresser of Lee's Summit, MO for the 2011 season.
Gabbert now joins 4* Curtis Carter as the second offensive player to decommit from Nebraska this week. This turn of events is only going to add fuel to the fire that is burning under Shawn Watson right now, which I detailed here this week.
Nebraska has several options they can turn to. One being offer in-state QB Bronson Marsh (who is a much better athlete than Gabbert) a scholarship now to make sure he ends up in Lincoln. The second (and most logical) being to start hitting the junior college QB's hard - really hard.

b). Blaine had a shitty Sr. year as well. Injured. Not sure if Tyler had the same thing happen. You guys would know that more than I would.
