I'm not sure if anyone was paying attention to high school football in Nebraska, but there was someone flying so below the radar in recruiting that I want to hit on it real quick.
Millard South QB Bronson Marsh (Rivals profile here) led the Patriots to a 13-0 record this season and a State Championship over Millard West as he went for 7/13 for 101 yards and rushed for another 157 yards and 1 TD in the finals. Here's the highlights below of #7 (in red):
In Marsh's 37th start for the Patriots, he broke Scott Frost's 11-man Nebraska high school record with 6,826 career yards (2,425 yards this season.) And in the final quarter of the game, Marsh, who practices with both the offense and defense, intercepted a pass to help his team preserve the win. Marsh is also a track and field stand-out with times of 14.95 in the 110m Hurdles, 22.86 in the 200m, and 11.12 in the 100m. And, he's a winner.
Currently, Marsh is being recruited by most of the Big 12 North schools and Iowa, and I believe his only scholarship offer is from Frank Solich at Ohio.
And here we were waiting on hands and knees (*cough) on Tyler Gabbert's final word about his commitment to Nebraska, which he supposedly gave after the Kansas State game. You know my thoughts on Gabbert (click here.)
If Gabbert does follow through and signs with Nebraska and if Marsh winds up walking on at Nebraska, I'd love to see this QB competition in the future. The choice right now between the 4* little brother of Blaine and the QB who broke Scott Frost's high school records at Class A Millard South might be a little more difficult than the recruiting experts at Scout and Rivals might lead you on to believe.
Yeah, if anyone is able to dig up Gabby's senior season stats from Parkway West this season, let me know.
